Thanks in advance for taking time to answer. My major gripe though is that they strip all EXIF / IPTC data out, and that sharing can't be turned off completely. That is a huge 83% reduction, and as a result, we see nasty artifacts. Did you purchase photos from us?
In this day of cheap storage and fast connections, their penny-pinching in this regard is just ridiculous. When I upload my picture lost quality and I lost some time trying to find a good resolution to solve my problem but I don´t find any good answer so I To get a sense of how bad the image compression can be, I uploaded the screenshot, downloaded the resulting file, and then re-uploaded the already compressed version. There is a problem with image file.I have saved them to desktop and access them there.Not that it matters but they are of my great,great grandnephew shooting pool at age 4Is Facebook Image Compression 2016 This helps prevent over-compression. If you are reasonably savvy with image formats and graphics software, try saving your image as a PNG 24. Our Profile picture always looked smeary until we recently replaced it with a PNG version, and now it is fine. Sometimes this software is not installed or is damaged and it is responsible for many issues with videos. To avoid compression when you upload your cover photo, make sure the file size is under 100 KB.

Like most online photo services (including PhotoShelter), when an image is processed by Facebook, the image conversion algorithm adds a little bit of sharpening. FYI, I have tried every other filetype that FB allows (bmp, png 8 or 24, tiff with all options set for reducing quality) AND I have also tried using the FB Using them used to work for me in the past, but today the illustration I uploaded is abysmal. 100kb??
