Acpi Apic Support Enable Disable
I am using Windows XP Professional, and after disabling APIC (in order to fix my TV Card Issue) Windows does not boot up, it just hangs with a black screen. Go ahead. - You'll do TONS more work shuffling IRQ's (since despite APIC, in non-ACPI mode you only get 4 hardware-level interrupts - that's right ONLY 4!), and get almost no performance benefits.

Don't get confused with ACPI and APIC. Acpi Apic Support Bios If you keep it disabled, it should not be a problem, unless you try to install a 64-bit Operating System in the future.
